Our approach is to work with the key members of the client organisation to create a specification which sets out in detail the important attributes of the locomotive or rolling-stock required.
Time spent at this stage always pays dividends as discussion with the various operating departments ensures no unstated needs reveal themselves later in the project causing additional expense and possibly compromising the whole programme.
Once a requirements specification has been agreed it can be used either to assess the relative merits of suppliers' own designs or proposals in order to select the best option or to prepare an outline design scheme tailored to exactly meet the requirements.
