2' Gauge 0-6-0T 'Morag'
'Morag' is a 2'-0" gauge 0-6-0T design developed for a museum railway where the use of unsuitable historic locomotives to haul heavy public trains on gradients as steep as 1 in 25 was creating an excessive burden on their engineering resources. Annual operation was around 3000 miles over less than 100 days steaming with a maximum line speed of 10 mph. The focus of the design was therefore to minimise initial capital cost of construction coupled with low maintenance and ease of operation.
